2010

So... another year is about to pass and I feel like I should be spending more time reflecting. But what good does that do? Well I do but I also dont have much time to write it all down cause of work and just the fact that I would rather be using my time doing other things than sitting in front of a computer. I just know that this year I accomplished some life goals, got the chance to travel, meet some amazing people, and pretty much made the most out of everything. I dont see this New Year as a chance to start fresh cause I am doing pretty damn well and we all know resolutions are BS. You gotta try and improve yourself all year round, not just for the first few weeks of every year, so Im just gonna keep doing what Ive been doing and hope that my luck will carry on to 2011.

2010 was a damn good year (thanks to everyone that made that possible) and I hope 2011 will be even better.

Now here are some pictures.

Time with friends

After spending Christmas Eve and Christmas day working I was looking forward to having some free time. Once I got off of work Sunday afternoon, I met up with Ryan and Ruel and got some riding done. Its been over a year (since summer of '09) that all 3 of us were on our bike, riding some respectable miles. Got us all nostalgic and shit.
And of course, we rode somewhere to fill our stomachs. Cause of the cold weather, pho was a no brainer.
While eating we got in contact with Scott who was just getting off work and was hungry. Guess what he was craving... pho! We later found out that Josh and Charles were riding to Fremont to eat too. All of us met up to go to another pho spot. I didnt think another picture of a bowl would be necessary. But after that we rode, well raced to Union City Tapioca Express (which I won by the way! :D ha!) then got bored and rode to Tuttimelon and got bored and headed to Krispy Kreme.
After we got our fill of donuts someone came up with the bright idea to go drinking at Jerry's Grill. Ordered beer that comes in this awesome container. I think Scott is going to be trying to make one of these at home and when he does Ill let y'all know.

Waking up the next morning my body definitely made it known how hard I worked. I was sore in weird places and was just exhausted. So I slept in since it was my only day off for the week till who knows when.

But I got a text from my old classmate Karen. I was way too tired to get out of bed but she bribed me with some sushi and I could not pass that up. It was nice catching up but at the same time depressing cause of the whole not being able to find a full-time job subject. But it's all good, we got jobs and were happy.
She then drove me around to try and buy some oil for my car. My Dad will only let me put one kind of oil in the car and he just had to pick one that was so difficult to find. I had to go to 3 different stores and making phone calls to find this thing.
Finally finding that damn oil, got home to an empty house. I then realized that I haven't fed my turtles some fishes in a while, so I headed to Pet Club a block away from my house. Where I got carried away checking out all the other animals they have.

Lately my interest have pointed to Corn Snakes. I would love to have one. Hopefully I can get one soon, Charles offered to give me his albino snake, even though it thought I was food the last time I played with it and ended up biting my arm, I will be more than happy to take it in. Just look at these baby ones. So pretty.
Check out the other pets they have.
As I was walking out I saw a something real bright from the corner of my eye. Then I saw this little guy.

Prettiest shrimp I have ever laid my eyes on.
Later that night my good friend of mine, Chris, hit me up to hang out. He's leaving for Puerto Rico tomorrow to celebrate New Years out there. Also we havent hung out or had the chance to catch up on each others' lives in a while. So some catching up was in need and we did just that. Its always nice to know that no matter how long I havent talked to whom I consider "good" friends, that the next time we do see/talk to each other that our relationship hasnt gone down the drain. I mean if I consider you a good friend, I dont see the need to constantly be in contact cause we have our own separate lives and I would expect us to be friends till we need canes and wheelchairs to get around. haha.
those were a good 2 days.

Merry Christmas!

It might be the fact that our immediate family here in America is super shady (Yes calling all you out, well not all, it only pretty much applies to my Dad's sisters), or I think its more so that all the cousins/relatives that we grew up with and had that real family bond are in the Philippines. But my family has never been the type to be too into the holidays and Christmas is no exception. So I decided to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

After work though I did get to spend some time with my Grandparents and took them to Midnight Mass. Then unexpectedly ended up spending the rest of the night eating and playing a board game with non-relatives, which was real fun. On top of that I got gifts that I wanted and glad that my gifts made some people's night.

Merry Christmas to all of you. Work is so slow, Im now gonna bore to death. (But at least Im getting paid double!)

Past Week

The last few days has just been filled with work and hanging out. Got to have a nice dinner with y siblings. One of the rare instances that we go out.

It was also Manny's 21st birthday.
Then the rest are a bunch of shenanigans.
Oh and Archie, Rob, Nino, and I hiked Mission Peak the other day. Made it up in record time with 45-50 minutes. The way down actually took us longer than the hike up.
Crazy winds at the peak and we only had one light between the 4 of us.
The "party" Area Cycles.

Lots of fun. Beer bongs, nerf guns, and BB guns.

Ride Time

Between my 2 jobs I was scheduled to work 12 days straight and on top of that a forecast of rain for a whole week I knew that finding time to ride was going to be difficult, but it just so happened to be sunny on Wednesday and I was going to be off work early. So to take advantage of it all, I hit up Rob and we went on a ride from Hayward to Berkeley.

Since it's been a while that we've gotten a chance to hang out, a lot of catching up was done so the ride wasn't a "ride as fast as you can to get wherever were going" type of ride. It was medium paced where we can chat it up. We also just kept taking detours, going on trails, roads, and neighborhoods that we haven't been before.

We eventually made it to Berkeley where we ended with a total of near 50 miles. Got some indian food and drank a whole bunch of chai tea.

Then on the way back home I got a call to hang out with the guys at Tapioca Express. From there someone threw in the idea of playing power hour. Then the craziness began.

A shot of beer every minute for 60 minutes. It doesnt sound that much but man that was hard. We even started it off with a shot of vodka. I was able to finish the whole 60 minutes but a couple minutes after taking the last shot of beer I had to make my way to the backyard and pretty much threw everything up. (yupp even the indian food from earlier)

Then the bromance started. Rob pinning Mike on the couch for a good 20 minutes, then Jeff wrestling Scotty and after that Scotty and myself.

Definitely a good night.

Oh and Happy 11th Birthday to my little brother!

Purgatory (of Relationships)

Clever huh? Came up with that little label last night while discussing past, present, and future "endeavors." I think it explains perfectly where Ive been stuck at for the past 7 (maybe 8) years. Sure Ive traveled back and forth to trying out relationships and definitely enjoying the single life. But at this very minute, I'm back in the middle ground. I have the choice of getting into something serious or just do what I usually do and drop everything so I can keep doing what Ive been doing for the past 2 years. I'm definitely stuck, both are highly possible but the choice is a difficult one to make. I need something to happen, something big to have me confident enough that I know I'm making the right choice.

In other words. Im pretty much in between these 2.

Right about.... here.

2 days off!

Yes you read that right. TWO days off. IN A ROW! And damn! it felt good.

The great news came to me while I was sitting at work the other day. I was just about to leave to go home and make the most out of my day and have enough time to get some rest for work the next day. Then my co-worker spoke some of the most beautiful words my ears have heard (at least for the last couple of months): "you have Monday AND Tuesday off. I immediately ran to the schedule sheet and as I looked at my name and saw those days blank, the biggest smile grew on my face. I walked out of there ready to skip to my car, but I have an image to maintain and that would have just crushed it.

So for the nest 2 days what did I do? What I do best: sleep in, ride my bike, spoil myself a little, and most of all relaxxx.

Sleeping in and relaxing was Day 1.
Went over to Pleasant Hill to enjoy the nice weather, sitting in a park eating a sandwich, drinking coffee. Yea that was good and also to check out one of the most awesome thrift stores Ive ever been to.

Then a little drawing therapy. This thing is gonna take forever to finish...
Now onto Day 2.

I came across this super good deal on a bike and I had to jump on it. Ive always wanted this kind of bike and even though I have another bike Im working on, this was just too good to pass up.
I finally got myself a Broakland! This particular one has a lot of history. Im sure most of you could care less and some of you already know. Lets just say its got a lot of street cred.
I also decided to ride my bike to pick it up. Therefor...
I had to strap it on my bag and ride with a bike on my back. Fun and cool but definitely scary, all I was picturing in my head is the end of the bike getting clipped by a car driving by me. Thankfully that did not happen.
and I was able to make it to the end of the day.
to go home to this! where were you when I was sick last week?!
and that sunset above turned into, in my opinion, the best sunset this year.
WHAT A GREAT 2 DAYS!

Now off to bed to get ready for another work week. :(
