Promised my Mom I would spend Saturday with her and my family. We went to San Francisco and went to a KTVU Channel 2 News party on the top floor of the Westin St. Francis. All the newscasters were there and a lot of white people. Open bar. Well beer and wine but whos going to complain and my Mom was cool with me drinking at 3 in the afternoon. Thanks Mom.
^see that? I wasnt joking about the "a lot of white people" part. But check out the view.
After that. My mom took me shopping. Then she wanted to be a part of the parade, so we met up with her co-workers for Southwest. She got my brother on the float while we just walked in front of it. It was fun, but my feet hurt.
Oh and this is the cutest baby out there today. Seemed like everyone with a camera stopped to take a picture. And the whole 4 hours I was next to her I only saw her smile ONE time and it wasnt even a smile. It was like a smirk.

Had a short day at school yesterday. Thanks to furloughs. The sun also decided to come out and say hi for a bit. Took advantage of it and went out to lunch with a couple of my classmates.
Hopped on the bike with Archie and Chris (yellow one). We were heading to my friend Kenji's shop, Area Cycles, in Castro Valley. Since Archie won a gift certificate at the race, he wanted to put it to good use. But on the way to the shop, there is this store called "The Reptile Room." I have driven and rode by this place many many times the past few years and have always wanted to check it out. Well yesterday was my lucky day.
These little chicks are cute huh. Too bad they're not sold to be pets. Just scroll down a little and youll see that theyre for.
Didn't plan on it but we ended up going on the Thursday Night ride that Kenji throws. Pretty fun route. A few hills and lots of angry drivers. But the weather was great and the ride was too. Dont know the mileage of the ride. But it must have been a good amount cause my legs are hurting a bit. Maybe Ill come out again next week.

Steven Jensen
I stopped trying to learn new tricks a long time ago due to not having the money to buy the right bike/parts to do so. Also I couldnt afford to get hurt, Im trying to finish school as fast as I can. But even though I don't trick I still appreciate tricks and how much time and effort it takes to learn one and especially how much balls it takes to pull some of the tricks being done now. Tricks have gone a long way in just a few months. Everyone just keeps going bigger.
Although one thing Ive notice that is going on currently is that not a lot of people are being original. In trick comps you see the same tricks done over and over (i.e. pivot, sliders, fakies, 180s, barhops, etc). It's still cool and all, theres just one thing I want to say. Doesnt matter how big you go or what tricks you do. Just keep it steezy. Make it look good. Pull it off smooth. Make it look effortless. Cause even the simplest tricks amaze me when done with style.
Just check this dude out. And he gets a +1 for having my name as his last name.

I hate white scrubs
Why? Because you have to watch out for everything you touch/walk by/sit on etc. to try and not get any stains on them. Also everyone just looks at you all weird because you are wearing ALL white. Thats why after finishing the second year of the nursing program I was SO happy to never wear all white scrubs ever again. until today... (err yesterday)
My classmates and I had to all dress up in our white scrubs to take group pictures. Even though a lot of people were missing because they were either in other classes, working at the hospital, or just plain anti-social (jk). It was still nice to see everyone together. Theres some pictures below.
When I got home I decided to go on a bike ride since I havent been able to the past few days because Ive been sick. Maybe biking wasnt such a good idea cause I felt really weak and was coughing like crazy, but it was still nice to be back on the bike.
Then met up with Mike to have dinner at Bronco Billy's. Where we got free beer! well technically they just forgot to charge us for it, but were not complaining. Thanks Broncos. Oh and that jalapano pesto pizza was ridiculously spicy. Still good though.
Then my friend Chris (not the brown one but the yellow one) met up with me at Padddys so we can do a quick loop around Union City.
Oh and speaking of Chris (the brown one). I finally got to see him today, after like.. forever. I guess weve just both been busy. Mostly him though, I just spend my days going to school, working, and watching Lost. But anyways, we went to Montano Velo today to handle some business which is to be done soon! It was nice catching up, good to know youre still alive! Have fun this weekend!

Yesterday was a good day.
A lot of words. So I doubt a lot of you will read this.
Im talking about Thursday. Friday was fun but this post is for Thursday. Since this will be posted on Saturday it might get a little confusing and have it for Friday. You get it right?
Thursday was good in many ways. First it was the start of my 5 day weekend. All of my classes got canceled. Well, except for my bootcamp class but I did hurt my leg and my teacher wouldnt let me run so it was an easy day for me.
After I got home I was able to squeeze in a quick 2 hour nap and decided to head out to the city. A few years back before I was riding bikes and my mom didnt work at the airport, whenever I wanted to relax and get away for a bit I would take BART out to the city and just roam around. and that is what I did.
I did have coffee with a friend and saw another friend while walking around. Since I was already there I treated myself out to a little shopping and then visited Maverick. I barely get to see him noawadays, cause of living far, school, work, basically were just doing separate things with our lives right now but we still have managed to stay close. We hung out on his first 15 minute break and he had to go back and I had an hour to kill.
In that whole hour I was able to grab a cup of tea and make a new friend. This new friend is Tim, he is the homeless guy that sits in front of American Apparell. He is 58 years old and sits in front of the store every single day to try and get enough money for 5 cans of beer and leftovers. He was very talkative which was really good cause he made the one hour to wait for Mav to go on his lunch fly by. Now you might think Im weird but hey, hes way more interesting than most of the "normal" people I meet and apparently all of the workers there are friends with the homeless people that hang around in front of the store. I saw the manager having a cigarette with one of them. So next time Im totally bored in the city, I know where to go.
Last 30 minutes out there I spent catching up with Mav. Hes basically married so I already know what hes been up to. Actually now that I think about it we spent a lot of time blaming each other for not having time to hang out. But whatever Im done with school in 4 weeks. Ill have all the free time in the world.
Then jetted back to Hayward so I can meet up with Ru and Jay to spend the rest of the night at Sabor.
